What the data shows
APAC regions cost 10-20% more
Singapore and Tokyo have higher compute and storage prices than US East. Egress rates are also 30-40% higher from Asia than from the US or EU.
EU adds 4-8% to compute costs
EU West (Ireland/Belgium) is 4-5% more expensive than US East. EU Central (Frankfurt/Germany) adds 7-8% due to higher energy and infrastructure costs.
Egress is the hidden multiplier
Data transfer out of the cloud costs $0.08-0.12/GB. At 2 TB/month, egress alone costs $160-245/mo depending on region and provider.
GCP is often cheapest globally
GCP's compute prices are generally 5-10% lower than AWS, and their egress rates are competitive. The gap widens in EU and APAC regions.
